Hello from Northamptonshire

    I am no Titchmarsh. In fact, I am a complete gardening novice, so I anticipate that I will be asking many questions. Initially about very fundamental matters.
    I am keen to learn; but having no previous experience apart from rough digging and necessary pruning, I have a very limited knowledge base from which to commence.

    I consider myself to be a sociable and gregarious person, easy to adapt, and with a healthy sense of humour. I tend not to take myself too seriously, but I don't tolerate fools well.

    I look forward to getting to know, at least, some of you.

    Having just read Armandii's advice, in FAQ's, a few moments ago: -
    My location is central Northamptonshire.
    My gardens face east/west, both with, I'm told, loamy soft soil, on an indeterminate depth of gravel at about 1.2 metres (4ft) from the surface.
    The rear garden (30ft long x 15ft wide) is very sheltered: the font garden (30ft sq) is open on three sides (north/west & south)
    Both gardens are laid primarily to lawns with surrounding borders.
    I will upload photos, in due course.

        I have uploaded a selection of photos into the Gallery, entitled Garden Photos.
        Not the best of images, but they reasonably portray my front & rear gardens and demonstrate sunlight and shade.
