Hi all, I just joined today. My name is Sarah. This is my second season as a total newbie gardener, after I was encouraged to start last year to help deal with chronic depression. I fell in love with it and haven't looked back.
I have an average size back and front gardens. It's taken a lot of work getting the garden sorted and able to grow anything, as when I moved in 10 years ago it was full of building rubble and couldn't even grow grass.
Mainly I've been experimenting with growing veg, and have a basic cheap plastic greenhouse which I love. I've also just ordered a chicken coop and looking to rehome some exbattery hens when our local rescue has some more in.
This is still all very new to me, but I feel much more confident this year. I've started loads of seeds off in windowsill propagators and have just moved them on into the greenhouse this evening.
So anyway, that's me for now!

Hello Sarah and a very warm welcome to GC, they are a truly lovely bunch and I think you will enjoy the time you spend here. I too first got into gardening following a breakdown and severe depression, I know others won't mind me saying it was their therapy also, as I have seen it written freely on the boards here. Also a couple of the folk keep chickens! I feel sure they will be introducing themselves to you very soon, so I won't try and steal their thunder!

Anyway Sarah, I really look forward to getting to know you, have a good look around and take everything at your own pace - I've only been on here two weeks and I feel like a member of a close knit family already, you'll be fine with us! Love and light your way and chat soon x x x x :grphg: :chicken: :spinning:

        Welcome to GC Sarah :sign0016:

I am sure you will love it here - plenty of help, advice and friendly banter along the way. Please feel free to share photos of your garden (or anything else for that matter - we love photos around here )

You will find all the members are very friendly - you couldn't find a more genuine bunch of people if you tried.

PS - it helps us to help you if you put your location in your profile, as soil types and weather etc vary massively
