    Hi

from John and Angela. we live in Orpington Kent. I have a garden not big but not small either.

It has a lawn, a pear tree, a mullberry bush, a willow, laveteria, lilac, cotoneaster, peonies, budlia

like most chaps i love composting and gear but I angela will no doubt ask about plants too.

orpington is in south london has chalky soil and is reasonably mild but kent has late frosts so no tropical plants for us.

Hi John and Angela, Welcome to GC. We're a pretty friendly lot even though we all row like the blazes.

What do you mean 'No tropical plants for us'. If I can grow them in North Yorkshire and Pete (who no doubt you will meet) can grow them, in his case successfully, in Kent then you have no excuse for sticking with boring old lupins. :D :D

    Hi John and Angela, welcome.

As Sarraceniac, (John) says, just because you get the odd late frost dont mean you cant grow exotics. You dont know until you try, and you could well be better placed than me, being nearer London.

BTW, we do have the occasional argument, but its all part of the fun.

    Hello and welcome.

Don't know what everybody's got against Lupins. I'd love some if the slugs would just stop mowing them down.

Any garden pictures? They're always popular (because we're all insatiably nosey)

Hi John and Angela, Welcome to GC. I am thinking about getting a weeping mulberry for my project. What sort of mulburry tree you got?

Hello John and Angela welcome to our friendly forum I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

I'm sure once you get going on here you will see you can indeed have a go at tropical plants I'm starting to grow some and I live in chilly Yorkshire.

As with most gardening plants you never know what you can grow until you have tried.
