hello from Somerset

    Hello All, I live in Somerset just 60yards (approx) from a beach so as you can guess my soil is 90% sand and salt. However with loads of horse manure and my home made garden compost I am slowly winning. Does anyone know of shrubs which could grow tall but not spread out and are tollerant to strong wind. My garden is very small so widespreading shrubs would take over.
