It was always my dream to have a big garden.

For 10 years of renting houses in Holland, France and Switzerland, my passion was served by 100 sq m gardens. Then i had a bad car accident leaving me in a wheelchair.

We bought a building plot and 3 acres of meadow. 5 years later we have 200 trees on our wildlife haven and 4 beds surrounded by rabbit protecting chicken wire. in 2006 i built the smallest raised bed in the world. now i can get my hand dirty!! Heaven

I have loads of time (MOL), lots of ideas, just not the knowledge or physical ability to do it !!

    Expect lots of inane questions

Thanks in advance for all your help

Hello Man Of Leisure from Lady of Leisure and welcome to GC! [IMG]

I must admit MOL sounds better than LoL! I am not a Lady of Leisure due to having so much time on my hands but moreso that after 37 years working I was finally in control of my own time. There is always so much to do I wonder I ever had time to work, especially in the demanding jobs I had, plus manage a household and garden.

I'm sorry to hear of your accident but I admire your tenacity in getting on with life. I'm sure your wildlife haven is wonderful and will be a wonderful place for you to relax.

Questions are only inane if you don't know the answers ... if you don't, there are lots of folk here who can assist you.

You couldn't have found a better place ... enjoy!

Hi MOL welcome to our friendly forum, how wonderful to have a MOL as well as LOL!

It must have been so hard for you after your accident but I'm really pleased that you have not given up, I'm sure your garden gives you a get deal of pleasure well at least when the weather's nice! :D

A wildlife haven sounds wonderful and I am pretty sure most of us on here will be so very jealous of your large patch.

I went to Bressingham gardens quite a few years ago round about the time Adrian Bloom was popping about on Gardener's World and I have to say his 'island beds' were a wonderful site, only wish I had a little bit more room in our garden....but with all the work involved maybe not! Helen.xxx.
