I'm a botanist with a small plot, tiny lean-to greenhouse and lots of pots and troughs. This year I'm growing mostly tomatoes (22 varieties, but just 1 plant of most) and salad leaves.

I've joined to get some tips for my tomatoes.

Hi Cinnamon - and a warm welcome.
Do tell us a bit more about where you were working abroad, and what you working on, and what made you take up Botany professionally.

Thank you all. I'm back in England after 10 years of living abroad working in international development in Papua New Guinea, Tanzania, Ghana and China. I'm from, and living in, Lincolnshire. This is my first year back to garden seriously, though I'm short of space and looking to move house. I work for a conservation organisation doing applied social research at the moment, though my background is all things planty e.g. plant resources in rural development.

Need to get a camera working and snap some of my dodgy Cucurbits for IDing. They are not what it said on the packet.
