Hello from the Garden Dummy

Hello all! I'm originally from Chicago, always lived in high rise apt buildings, never had to do anything to do with gardening until moving to Shropshire seven years ago. I'm finding it really difficult to have the physical ability to garden, but I have absolutely no idea what anything is - for all I know, whenever I do anything in the garden, I'm just making it worse!

I do loads of research, read lots of books, but when it's just me and the garden, I feel so defeated. Hoping I can read some other members' posts, ask some questions, and maybe 2009 will be the year I finally make some headway in the garden.
