    Hi all
its lovely to read your advice and funny stories. Im very new to gardening, but have started peas, garlic, lettuce, onions in containers, and also bought loads and loads (someone stop me!) of new plants. My very favourites being a tree fern and black bamboo. Not cheap but they give me so much pleasure. I even go out with my morning coffee to sit with them [IMG] ! Oh and we've built a pond too :)with froggies and fishies :)
Hoping to spend more time picking your brains :)

Hi peapod and a warm welcome from me too.

You have been busy getting things started and I have my fingers crossed that you have great crops. Oh, the tree fern and black bamboo sound very exotic, talk to Banana Man if you want to know anything about them, he's the expert here for such. (or one of them!)

How big is your pond, etc. Looking forward to hearing more about everything.

thanks for that lovely warm welcome :)

My back garden is all paved apart from a tiny raised bed next to the pond..the pond is 8ft by 4ft and is built on ground level..we took out slabs and dug under the ground and built up walls around it (if you understand that explanation then you are a genius!)
The garden itself is about 54ft by 16ft (just asked mr pod he did the workings :) ) so most of my plants and all veg and herbs are in containers. we are building another raised bed later on the year so i get to buy more plants (yay!) and are replacing our asbestos garage with a new one on which i plan to put a roof garden.
I'm not an exotic plant lover usually Kedi though I love my bamboo and my furry tree friend :) i did look at a banana tree, but just cant find the room away from the winds (I live on top of a hill)
Front garden is small and sloping and Im a bit baffled as to what to do as yet..advice will be requested later :)

Ill post picks as soon as Ive finished facing the pond front with that stone stuff that looks like wood :) Should be this week sometime..
Anyway...sorry to waffle on..cant seem to shut me up lately :)

    Take care

Sounds like the way I did my pond last year but it's much smaller, only 4ftX4ft, part sunk, part raised.
Just had to buy a new pump/filter and in two weeks it has worked wonders, it's no longer a green sludge. :D Crystal clear.

Anyway what we want it pictures of yours.
