I have started a blog about my garden, in order to share my enthusiasm for the plants I grow, particularly Australasian shrubs and trees. I can't post links to the forum yet, but you can find my website by searching for 'Mona's Garden'.

      Welcome!

I have a broader interest in southern hemisphere plants. A lack of space means that I limit myself mostly to smaller shrubs and tuberous/bulbous plants.

      Do you grow from seed?

Thanks for your reply. Alas I don't grow from seed as growing shrubs would take too long! Trying my hand at cuttings, though not very encouraging so far...

            Hi Mona

What a lovely garden you have.... Tis amazing

I'm in the process of redesigning my garden, my lawn now sits in a skip with several tons of rubble that was buried underneath it!

But on the home straight, hubby just putting in the first lot of brick work we need... So hopefully it be finished by the weekend and I can get on with deciding on my planting scheme

Welcome to GC Mona, a fantastic garden.
I have a collection of about 10 Callistemons, reduced a bit now as being in a frost pocket some are prone to damage, even C Citrinus splendens C masotii suffered this Winter.

Hello, So sorry to hear that your Callistemon have suffered this winter, however they are such lovely plants that it is worth persevering...I have discovered a lovely yellow flowering Callistemon called"pityoides" a five years ago which has done very well. It came from County Park Nursery in Hornchurch Essex which have been specialising in Autralasian plants for decades. The grandson of the previous owner has taken it over and is in the process of moving the nursery to Hampshire. He still has an amazing variety of Callistemons.
