    Hi Everyone,
I just had to join, I spent this evening reading some of the posts and it seems to be just the right mix of info and fun. This time last year I decided that rather than just cut the lawns and tidy away the kids toys we were going to have flowers, So in went a couple of packets of mixed seeds and some oxalis bulbs into a raised bed. We had some flowers, however the bug really got hold of me, we now have a 10'X 8' greenhouse, at last count about 53 containers, 2 new veg beds, a pond, 2 cold frames, a soil warmed proagating bench etc etc. I guess like all new gardeners I am impatient,I want to grow it all and have been banned from garden centres and nurseries by the bank manager and the wife. Look forward to learning loads and probablty not being able to give much back for a while. Not a great speller!

Hi hamlet and a warm welcome to GC. Well, you sure have been busy this past year getting all that work done! You have come to the right place to ask questions and get answers, there are so many clever folk here, counting myself out. How big is your pond and what do you have in it? Looking forward to hearing how everything progresses this year.

Hello Hamlets, welcome aboard the good ship GC!

You really did jump in with both feet but sounds like you had fun doing so.

You have probably seen we have two photo competitions a month but we will probably ban you from entering as photography is your profession! :D :D

    Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.
Kedi-Gato - to use the word pond was actually an exageration it's a sort of rock pool tree stream with a top bit that flows down to a bottom bit. We have about 6 goldfish and some marginal plants, originally it was designed as a kid trap but sadly this failed and they have matured into full blown teenagers. Lady of Leisure I promise not to enter and photography competitions. Bought another propagator today as you can never have too many, going to try Ensete Ventricosum so thought I would need a 2nd propagator as they maybe in there for some time. Also bought some Jiffy things for the aforementioned so watch this space. Is it normal to visit the Greenhouse every 2 hours daily, I seem to be paying more attention to my seeds than I did to the birth of my children.

Your pond sounds lovely hamlets! I love rocks and stones and have actually brought many back from various holidays, much to the dismay of Hubby.
