Hello, I am a new member from the Isle of Man.
I have a sheltered garden in a small seaside town and have just had 4 raised beds built for vegetables. I garden organically and have a free supply of horse muck so am expecting great results!

Hi sumo and a warm welcome to GC, you will enjoy it here. I think you are the first member from the Isle of Man. Lucky you having free manure, your veggies will be sprouting all over!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Need advice on growing pumpkins (as opposed to pumpkin leaves!) so have started a thread about this.

    Hi Wiseoldowl,
I did have a Manx cat but unfortunately he died last week; he was ill and old. They are real characters and mine thought he was a dog! (I have 3 dogs too) They are not very good at cornering at speed either although they climb well.

Hello, sumo, and welcome to GC.

So sorry to hear about your cat. I am a cat person and always miss mine terribly when they decide to go off on their new adventures elsewhere.

Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hi sumo, glad to have you on board.Sorry about your cat.I'm a dog person, what type of dogs do you have?.
We are in the process of building 6 raised beds for veg and fruit so maybe we can exchange tips.
    Welcome again.

What a friendly lot you all are!
Hi Josephine, let me know how your raised beds do. I have dug in even more horse muck today, I even get to ride the horse as well!
Have you your own dogs? I have 3 rescued/rehoused dogs; a cavalier, a jack russell and a pug.
(Perhaps I should put this on the `pet` thread)
