Hi - we have gone from a small courtyard with a few containers to a nice large garden which has fabulous potential, but has been decidedly unkempt. Decided we ought to start learning a bit about gardens to make it less unkempt!

We have two garden areas. One which will be our children's play area - mainly laid to lawn with a vegetable patch at one end and bordered on two sides by golden privet. The other side is bordered by a beech hedge.

Our back garden, according to estate agents details, is currently a blank canvass. To everyone else, a mud slope. ;-) We aim to landscape this into two or three terraces & create more of a formal garden over the coming years - again bordered with hedges - two sides beech & one side privet.

Loads of projects & ideas. First thing we have started to do is our veg patch. Garlic & shallots already on their way along with raspberry bushes & rhubarb - teaching our oldest where his food really comes from! Next project is the hedge for children's area - it has patches which need in-filling. Then it's tackling the currently very bumpy lawn.

So hi - hope to learn loads & contribute when able!
