I planted 3 west country lupins last year and to be fair they were stunning, im new to gardening and was well chuffed.
looking forward to seeing them bigger and better this year i was very gutted. I have tried soapy water, aphid spray which looked like it wilted the leaves. Anyway all 3 plants are infested, i hose them off everyday, what can i do to maybe get another bloom, more importantly stop them early next year. Here are a few pics of the little green devils from hell.

When they are so bad as this I wouldn't hesitate to use one of those pesticides listed on the RHS site. Sprayed carefully it shouldn't harm anything else.

If you want to stop them next year, you might want to consider some preventive measures like companion planting with plants that deter aphids, using neem oil, or ladybugs as natural predators. And don't forget some extra care with pruning and maintenance.
