    Hello everyone.

I am a student currently studying in the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Sheffield. For my dissertation an engineering company has asked me to review their lawn mower handling system design, and part of the preliminary research is to find out what difficulties people face when performing tasks in the garden, particularly with lawn mowers.

If you have a spare 5 minutes (that's all it will take max), please have a look at my online survey and help me out. In order to make the design as ergonomic as possible, we're looking to focus on people over the age of 50.

    The survey is at: www.kwiksurveys.com/?u=gardening

I look forward to reading your opinions. Thanks very much,

    Simon

I'm sorry to say that due to the age restriction I'm unable to complete the survey :D

Good luck with your dissertation though.

I think both of my parents (who are 53) would cope fine with mowing our lawn.. as would many of the over 50s on GC.

Don't worry, I'm almost at the age for being able to fill it in twice. :heehee:

I'll do the survey and tell you what I think about it.

        Done it.

I've made my comments on the survey.

One I didn't make is that we prefer to do surveys on this site if we know that we are being listened to. some feedback would be appreciated.

Not a problem, I'd be more than happy to come back and let you all know the results once they have been processed.

          Thanks again.

Why? What happens to people after they turn 50? I'm worried now. Do you suddenly go from being fit and mobile and elderly and infirm on your 50th birthday? I'm not looking forward to that one then:sofa:

I can't revert to childhood. It was so long ago that I can't remember what childhood was like
