    Hi all,

I'm new so would first like to say hi to you all!

I wonder if there are any expert gardeners out that that might be able to help me identify a plant which is shooting up in my bed.
The leaves stand tall on long green stems about 10-20cm high with a long leaf. I've attached a pic to help. Being new to gardening not sure if it's a weed and I should whip it out fast as it is sprouting in a few place across the bed.
If any knows what this might be I'd really appreciate the help so I know whether to leave it in or not
    Many thanks for any advice!

Hi Zigs, thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to growing my gardening knowledge on these boards. Nice to know it's not a weed, I can at least eliminate that part of the equation :)

Yes, Arum maculatum of the unspotted leaf variety.

      Welcome to GC DaleGardener.

I would agree it's an Arum maculatum, the infamous Lords & Ladies plant which I have thriving everywhere here at the river. Some like it ... some don't ...

nFrost, Palustris and Victoria - You are all starts! thanks so much I really appreciate your help on this. I'm very much new to gardening and would imagine I will be needing many expert eyes in the near future!
We moved into this garden last year and have been doing a lot of renovating but have left much of the garden to see what's beneath the surface.
For now I think I'll leave them in
      Many thanks :)

No. And the leaves look too smooth as well?

Probably not, unless they are newly germinated seedlings perhaps?

I thought it looked like Arum lilly, possibly Zantedeschia species

Thanks I was creatively involved with this TV show so thought it would be a nice avatar. I have to say I'm much better at my day job than gardening!

Some of my Arum maculatum are coming through now, in parts of the garden. Especially the ones with the silvery leaf markings.
