Hi Sian if the area is quite shady do you think you could use it to maybe build a
shed or have it as a storage area? We have a row of trees that divide our plots down the middle but we intend to build storage crates for cabbage collars, wire, membrane etc. to be stored in when not is use so this area is no longer a problem for us.

If building something is not your thing then I have looked on the internet and found someone who mentions the following will grow in a shady area; Squash, broad beans, leeks, garlic, shallots, kale, purple sprouting broccoli, spinach, Swiss chard.

I think you might be best looking at people's plots around your site to see if anyone else has a shady area like yours and see what they are growing.

Don't be shy ask the guys and girls (if there are any!) what they would suggest for you to have a go at but be warned once you start to chat to everyone it takes forever to get any real work done on your plot. It took us nearly an hour to get onto our plot yesterday evening and it's not even 5 minutes walk away from our house and then when we did start some work another plot owner came over and kept us talking for another 20 minutes or so! It's good to talk!:DHel.xxx.
