We bought three lavatera plants through a gardening website and planted then as instructed 2 in pots and one in the garden. They had been cut back to about 2 in above the roots. We would have expected to see some kind of growth from the plant by now but nothing seems to have happened. Are we just being too premature or are there things we need to do.

    Any help greatefully received

Best advice is probably "Wait and see" - sorry! It does take time for plants to settle in. If the plants had a good root system when you planted them, they should be fine. I got a lot like that a year or so ago, and they took some time, but are doing well now.

    Hi awizzbang,
I have a well established one trained to a trelis. Previously had one in the garden just tied to a stake. Found that it couldn't taks very satrong winds and was easily uprooted. The trelissed one though is doing fine.
    Cheers,
    John
