Help with awful lawn

Hi

I am very new to gardening, and need some help!
My small lawn is full of weeds, uneven and basically horrendous - is it easy for me to go about re-digging and re-sowing a new lawn? I think it's beyond repair you see.

Will it be difficult? How do I go about it?

How big is your lawn? Do you have a photo of it you could post up for us to have a look?

I'd say it has to be pretty dire before digging and starting again is really justified. There's quite a lot of work in digging the ground over and starting from scratch.
