After my Foxgloves/Sweet William/Nigella/Poached Egg plants had finished flowering, I cleared up the flowerbeds and removed all spent flowers (first time in three years, it was a tip!), which eventually turned into a full-on reorganisation of the north-east corner of my garden. I cut back a lot of Virginia Creeper that was trailing over the fence (and blocking out alot of light), and now I'm left with this.

Any ideas on what to put there? I've labelled what's left, and things obviously need a move around. Ideally I'd like that Hollyhock behind the Rose, but it's 8ft tall and I have no idea how easy they are to move.

Rather than move the Hollyhock I`d be inclined to increase the depth of the border and plant something in front of it.:gnthb:

I agree 100% with Dai - if you increase the size of your borders from back to front, you'll have a wide range of herbaceous perennials and small shrubs to choose from. You'll be able to create a tiered effect quite easily.

In fact, I'd make that corner into a quadrant shaped flower bed by sacrificing the corner of the lawn. Just think of the scope that would give you!
