    Hi,

I have box tree and the edges around the leaves are turning yellow and I dont know why!!

I had one last year and the same thing happened and after a while it died.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

    Thanks,

    Chocky

How big is it? Is it in a pot or in the ground? And is it somewhere sheltered or exposed? They can suffer from either being too dry or too wet and also from windburn.

    HI SG,

It is about 3ft high, in a large pot, and is exposed. I try watering regularly and have a few holes in the bottom for drainage.

    Thanks,

    Chocky

Hopefully someone will have an idea - I only grow box in the ground and never have any trouble with it, even in exposed areas (East facing).

Hi Chocky, if the leaves are turning yellow or white around the edges, that sounds like some form of stress. When planted in containers they are always more suseptible to things such as under/over watering and lack of nutrients etc.
They don't like being waterlogged, let the compost dry out on the surface between watering. Once established in the ground, Box are usually OK without watering or feeding, but in a pot it will need more attention. Try a slow release fertiliser, hopefully it will green up again before too long. Tip it out of it's pot...is it potbound? If so, pot it up. They often take on a bronzey tinge when they need repotting/feeding.
