My Camellia in a large pot, has not come into flower, got lots of buds but no flower, it's in a sheltered corner facing south. any ideas, also my Christmas roses have very chewed petals, they're living in bark in semi shade

Hi Wee Tattie. I think all your camelia needs is a bit more time and those buds will open.
Sorry I can't help with the helebore except to say something is eating it.

I'd agree completely with Alice. Your Camellia is just a bit behind but the the buds look healthy. Not sure about the Christmas rose but I think you should have a poke about in the soil in case there's a load of nasties waiting to jump on your other plants.

Our camellias flower every year, plenty of buds, no flowers yet. Just needs some warmer weather.
We've four new fruit trees, bought last October, three have started to bud out, the third hasn't yet, but it will, it's just a bit too cold at the moment.
A week of some sun and temperatures of occasionally around thirteen degrees or higher will bring about about a rapid transformation, it happens every year, but not always at the same time.

All the other Camellias round about have flowered, mine is about two years old, so maybe that's it,
And it's too cold to go poking around outside to-day, I do get plagued with slugs as my soil is clay.
    But thanks all.

I have an army of slugs but they ignore the hellebores, despite crawling all around them.

I have a Camelia that was blind for 2 years, and I had given this up for dead although the leaves were pretty healthy,so I moved it and put it into a pot and Whallah...:D this years I have loads of blooms and it is beautiful once again.
Could someone tell me if I have to deadhead them when they fade off to encourage more flowers or do I just leave them to Mother Nature to sort.?
    Thanks for any advice.
