    Hey all,

So my girlfriend is an avid gardener and her birthday is coming up, so I wanted to get her something gardening related.
Except I know nothing about gardening.
I was looking at these two kits online:
    The EarthBox:
    http://www.amazon.com/EarthBox-RB-E...sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1210023710&sr=1-1
    and the AeroGarden Pro:
    http://www.amazon.com/AeroGarden-Pr...sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1210023710&sr=1-3

    Here are the considerations:
    1. We go to college. So we have little space in our dorm rooms. Currently, she has a (small) pineapple, lots of peppers, lemons, an avacado, and a small chinese redbud. She prefers plants over flowers.
    2. The AeroGarden is a lot more expensive ($140) over the EarthBox ($60), which means I could probably get her a nice cake if I get the EarthBox. The question is, is the AeroGarden worth it? Which one should I get?
    3. Anyone have any other suggestions for planting gifts? Maybe a nice plant instead of the two kits above? Or another kit? The thing is we are away from each other this summer (i.e. her birthday), so it has to be something I could order online and have it delivered to her home.

    Thanks a lot all,
    I really appreciate any help!!!

    Hello dasarp,
if I really had to choose between the two presents that you submit, I would go for the aerogarden, if it is sure that your girlfriend likes the design of it and she is ready to put in the work that it requires and she has got the space for it.
I would definitely not go for the box because as exciting as its use can be, it remains a brown box...
If you have time to do it, I would investigate a little more her taste and maybe come up with something even cheaper, which she would like best.
Finding something online and have it delivered shouldn't be a problem...

How about a subscription to the RHS or the National Trust and you could enjoy garden visits together all year. :)
