    Hello,
I am new to the foruma and gardening. I inherited the lawn in the picture. Could you please help me in make it become a true lawn? It's been through a pass of feed and weed. It features a quite a few weeds, see the large patch in the centre. Could you please help me in finding the way forward? a.jpg

You could try over-seeding it (i.e. sowing some more grass seed on top of what you have got). Bit late in the season to be doing that now ... Autumn would be a good time if you can wait that long ... if you do it now you'll need to water to get it to germinate, unless we get a wet Summer like last year.

or you could rip it up and start again - either from seed or by laying turf. Both require the same soil preparation, so the choice is down to cost and timing. Seed would be best sown in the Autumn - I think that seed sown now would be a lot of work to get it safely through the summer. You should try to avoid walking on a new seed sown lawn for a couple of months, whereas with Turf its a few weeks, so this time of the year Turf tends to be preferred.
