How about a Boston Ivy or Virginia Creeper?

If you are thinking feng shui, and I'm far from any expert, to the best of my knowledge the direction things face is as important as the object.

With that in mind, what aspect are you thinking of? South? North facing? East? West facing?

That's a chilean potato vine: solanum crispum

I know that because I bought one last Autumn :heehee: It can grow up to 6 metres with a spread of about 2 metres and must have full sun (so, South facing)

    It is an evergreen.

PS: It is not a self-clinging climber, so you would need to tie in the growth where you want it.

Not sure mum, the front of my house gets sun first thing which is east facing, then as the sun moves over I have sun in my back garden all day long so sun from the south if that makes any sense

If you have sun all day long in your rear garden, then that will be south facing :)

I had a Solanum against a north east facing wall and it ran riot, I had to prune it heavily each year. The main stem snapped in high winds so I dug it out and haven't replaced it. :)

I like the look of that Boston ivy, lovely red does it stay red all year round or does it go green at all, also how quickly do they grow do they need much care ie a lot of trimming back ?

Both Boston Ivy and Virginia Creeper are green spring/summer then turn that gorgeous red in the Autumn. It's easy to manage, it doesn't get out of control.
