Hi all, could somebody tell me how to find the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway numbers by connecting my computer directly to the modem.

    Thank you.

IP address should be something like: 192.168.1.1 (or .0.1 -- I've had both)
    subnet will be 255.255.255.0
I don't have default gateway numbers on my system.

But, if you're posting, why do you need this information?
If you're using another computer on the same router/modem you should be able to get the numbers from there.

    Try -
Click on RUN (in the start menu)
    Type in cmd <enter>
    Type ipconfig <enter>

Your ip address and gateway should,I think, be returned.
