Help with this plant please.

    Hello,

    I'm new to gardening & not sure what to do with this plant or what it is? Is it a hydrangea?
    Is it dead?

    It looks like a Japanese Anenome EdenG...Just cut back the brown stems to the base and I'm sure it will shoot up new stems when it's ready to flower again:blue thumb:
