Yes they have had it. No, it doesn't matter what you put on them.

Can tomatoes have too much sun? I don't think mine are getting enough.

I often end up disagreeing with members on here so don't contribute much now but I do agree that tomatoes are sun lovers and need full sun - which means that they need unobstructed, direct sunlight for 6-8 hours a day. Careful watering is just as important as sun, but irregular watering can cause blossom end rot or the fruit to split.
I never let the growing medium dry out, preferring to keep it moist at all times rather than going from dry to soaking and back to dry. Obviously you have far less control over outdoor varieties when the weather is wet but during dry spell these need just as much water care as indoor plants.
I feed both indoor and outdoor plants with a good tomato feed every 3/4 days after the second truss has set.
DISCLAIMER: Before I get shot down by the usual suspects I am not recommending my methods to anyone but all of the above works for me.

Thanks, Lykewakewalker, I'll be out there timing them next!

If we let that put us off us there's a few that wouldn't be posting, including me! So please carry on.

Ebay or B&Q or some garden centres sell it by the metre off a big roll.. or you can buy packs
      http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/garde...ccessories/B-and-Q-Greenhouse-Shading-9218855
      Or..
      http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bayer-Crop-...056978&sr=8-1&keywords=greenhouse+shade+paint

Toms that close to the glass in full sun without enough food and water scorch like yours have sadly...
I think I might be inclined to...
      Or...
Get some shading Tomato food and water plenty and you might get something back from them..
