    A walk around Hengistbury Head for a few hours today produced a mix of resident and migrant birds.
    Locals.
    Stonechat.

      Summer Visitors.
      Sand Martins, a poor shot but difficult to get one at all!! unusual to see them on the ground.

        I am a little disappointed though :scratch: the wren visiting my garden is a real cutie pie. The one you have captured looks ... a bit aggrieved? :whistle: :heehee:

        Never even heard of a "Northern Wheatear", he looks a very inquisitive and proud chap :thumbsup:

        He was just belting out his 'song of the day'.:smile:

        Wheatears are upland birds breeding in the North and only pass through very quickly in the Spring. 'Northern' is just to distinguish it from other European species.
