Got a "garden extras" 6 in one herb seed pack. Planted a few weeks ago in a greenhouse. All planted in trays.

They have been very slow to start

    Cress - growing well
    Rocket - growing alright
    Thyme - sprouting
    Basil - sprouting
    Coriander - sprouting
    Mint - no sign
    Parsley - no sign

Do they all need the same conditions? --- have been keeping soil damp.

Are mint and parsley slow growers? or tricky? Have seeds left and can start again.

Parsley is known to be slow, never tried mint from seed, so cant say its usual to grow from root sections.

Sounds as if they are doing OK Adam.
Mint you can't stop. It will be along. Just be patient.
Parsley - well that is tricky. It is one of those plants that requires no special conditions, but it will grow or it won't. GOT IT ?
Be patient and wait for it. If it fails try it outside later.
    Try it this way.
Wait until the ground has warmed up - it's still cold.
Put down a board on the parsley row and stamp along it - parsley likes quite firm ground.
Scratch out a drill to plant the parsley seeds in - 1/4 inch should be fine.
Water the drill with boiling water from the kettle.
Sprinkle the drill finely with parsley seed and cover over.
Firm down and mark the row.
It should do well - more parsley than you could eat.

If that fails buy a parsley plant from the supermarket. Knock it out of its pot and rip it into 4 pieces and plant the bits in 4 clumps. You'll still have more parsley than you can eat.

    Good luck with your herbs.

    Thank you Pete and Alice.

I will give the Mint and Parsley a little more time to show.

Thank you for the two back up plans aswell.

I have pretty much the same herbs going on my windowsill, from seed. The Parsley was the first up amazingly, as I'd read it was a slow starter. The others appeared to be doing nothing until this morning. I gave them all a really good water last night, I was actually worried I'd over done it (glanced at something and tipped a bit too much water in) but I woke up this morning to inch high seedlings all having a party in trays on the windowsill, impressive!

Yes any of the ones you buy as a growing herb in a pot ,take it home and divide the clumps into 3/4 and away you go,
my chives are years old, as i say the parsley is 2 ,the sage is the same as the chives ,the only one i buy every year is thyme.

I've planted some herb seeds recently too. My basil is growing (it sprouted very quickly), my chives are growing like billy-o - they are very happy - and my parsley is growing too although it did take a bit longer to sprout.

All herbs are growing. Rocket is the winner as its lush and green and numerous. Mint is dragging its heels but i have hopes for it. Thanks all
