... been thinking about you lately ...

    ... how are your lettuces?

Did it work as a cut and come again exercise, or, did they all ripen at once and cause a glut?

Hi M, lettuces are doing ok....ish. As predicted dog flattened some, cca where an absolute right off (because of said dog) little gem and cancan are heading up nicely, slugs got some but on the whole not to bad. Can use cancan as cca and thin out gems to use, just like the spice of mustard greens in my salad, might sow some rocket:scratch: Maybe in a hanging basket:biggrin:

Sounds as though you were dead right to have sown as many as you did  (so: my apologies for thinking you had over-sown :love30: )

Rocket in a hanging basket might not be quite as daft as it first sounds; think you may be onto a winner there :blue thumb:

Thanks for that, so hard to keep motivated with the dog:sad:
I don't know how everyone else with dogs manages. People complain about cats but at least they don't dig up my produce or plants x

Thankfully, my dog leaves my plants alone and my cat is an indoor cat (who sneaks out sometimes but usually only to the bench :heehee: ).

Maybe you need tubs/pots/raised beds taller than your dog can reach? :dunno: Or, fence off an area just to grow your produce and keep the dog out?

Hi, thanks for the advice, must admit it's getting a bit disheartening. We had a lovely cottage style garden with veggie beds at the bottom. The dog has destroyed my borders, new perennials, annuals, raised beds, pots, paths are covered in compost!
Sorry don't want to complain but feeling really fed up x

        Aww, @Loki! Here ... :grphg:

Now, lets have a think about things and view them as an opportunity. After all, if the dog hadn't destroyed everything, you wouldn't be able to make a fresh new start knowing how to dog proof it from the off.

Do you want to post pictures so we can get a feel for the size/shape/condition of it? Then we can all make suggestions on how to progress from here. I'm sure between us all we'll come up with the right way to approach gardening with your dog where you can both enjoy the garden.
