    Hi Members,

    :new:

We bought a house last year that needed total refurbishment.
The rear garden had been neglected for 10 years and was totally overgrown with brambles and other trees/shrubs.

I removed all trees and plants taking the garden back to a shell.

I have recently built some raised beds due to the heavy clay soil and this week managed to lay lawns to the front and rear of the house.

I'm becoming increasingly interested in gardening and I'm looking for any advice.

    Thanks

Hi @Darloboy68 and a warm welcome to Gardeners Corner :sign0016:

There is only one word that I have for your garden achievements so far - WOW!!! Your neighbours must absolutely love you, as you have taken something that was a complete mess and turned it into your very own wee paradise! You've done a great job, and I am sure that your garden will give you many years of pleasure in future.

Thank you for your kind words. The neighbours were indeed ecstatic when we bought the house. I promised them all (on 3 sides) that when I got the keys for the house, that the first job I would do was to cut the garden back. And that is what I did. The neighbours hadn't seen daylight for at least 7 years. So at present, I'm in everyones good books...lol
