Lived in Bournmouth as a child for a few years, loved it. Is Beales still there with the huge concave windows as well, remember they were still there in the late sixties?:dh:

Hi all, thanks for the welcome, and Marley Farley, Beales is still there but you would not recognise some parts of town, do you remember the swimming baths by the the pier, well that's gone and the ugliest building, (which locals didn't want) put in it's place called the IMAX CENTRE blocking out one of the best views in Bournemouth  still that's progress, and now they have decided to pull it DOWN. :flag::yho:

Well Hi Soiled.. Wow.. Beales are still there.. !! Fantastic..Still those wonderful windows..?? Never seen any anywhere else like those ones ever...!!! I also used to love to walk by all the caged exotic birds round the edge of the Winter Gardens.......! I am sure they will have all gone by now though.... If they put an Imax where the baths were & are ready to knock it down again that is an awful shame...!! The baths were great fun. Have some good memories of there.. We also used to have one of the beech huts too & every Sunday we were down there as a family.. Great times & a great town.. We used to have "The Granville Court Hotel" but can see no listing for it now.. Don't remember the road but it was on a road with several of them. It was on a corner & built from sandy coloured brick... Funny how things jog your memory, So many happy memories have flooded back, could go on for hours here but won't.. I will spare you... :lollol: Look forward to seeing you around the forum mate.. :thmb:
