Having reached the ripe old age of 65 my thoughts have wondered about retirement.
October next will be my 66th and the start of my state pension, so I had the idea of getting a greenhouse. Thought I might try for a second hand one as these can for some be a five minute wonder. An explanation and a post on our village FaceBook page and within an hour up comes the offer of an 8x6 aluminium/glass one from a couple 3 doors away. Actually 3 doors is half a mile as the village spreads out a bit.
A Sunday dismantling and a couple of days jet washing moss and algae off the frame and glass, assembly began.
If the pic uploads, this is it.

        Hi,

Looks like a real bargain.

Cannot tell from your pic , but the best two improvements you can make to it, is to fit another opener on the other side to the existing one and to fit each opener with an auto vent kit.

You might think its only something for summer, but its surprising how hot it can get even with some winter sunshine.

Hopefully a few gentle hints might bring in some nice xmas presents ! :)

It has just the one window in the roof and it did come with an auto vent unit. Just haven't fitted it yet. I can't see the greenhouse make so not sure how I would get a second window frame.

I live alone (widower) so don't get presents.
The last one was a cake cook book. (2 years ago) Every recipe started with 500g of caster sugar.
I'm type 2 diabetic. (shrugs shoulders)

            Hi,

It looks like a Halls Greenhouse, the spacing of the door bars are the clue.

Easy enough to buy and fit those parts when your are ready.

Now you have some shelter you can start planning what seeds and plants to grow for next year ! :)

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Paul. :) I agree with Ricky, that's almost certainly a Halls greenhouse. I had one in my previous garden.

Before I buy a second roof vent, and bearing in mind it has been suggested that my greenhouse is a Halls, can anyone clarify this by the two pics that follow please.
                      Thanks in anticipation,
                      Paul G

I stuck with one roof vent on mine but added side louvers. In warm weather it draws lots of air to vent out through the top. I shut the louvers when it get's cooler in the fall and let the auto opener operate the roof vent as needed.

Sorry, just joking with you. :) The one below is better.

The only difference I can see is that your windows sit proud where as mine were integral to the roof. May be a later or earlier model than yours. It was also an 8 x 6ft.

No offence, but. Does it really matter that much what the make is. Paul seems happy with it. I'm sure he will get loads of pleasure out of it.

So! Sheal. Looking at your snow covered GH. Do you grow, 'ICE PLANTS?

Paul needs to know @Mike Allen so that he can buy parts for it.

That picture was taken in the "big snow" of 2013 on the Isle of Man, where I used to live. :) Yes I do grow Ice plants, I did there too.
