I am an Alpine Garden Society show and group secretary, so obviously I'm interested in alpine plants, but my personal plant growing interests include orchids, iris and corydalis, together with various unusual houseplants.

Welcome Dozzer - good to see an alpinist here on GC now. We don't seem to have covered alpines much at all so your expertise and interest is particularly welcome [IMG]

Hello dozzer and welcome. I don't grow many alpines or orchids myself, but I bet there are plenty on this site who do.

I have been interested in cacti for quite a number of years now and have a very good spot in my kitchen where they flourish profusely. The only rouble comes when i forget and move too close to one particular type and end up with fingers etc full of needles - the slightest touch is enough to set the irritation up for days! Anyone else grow cacti that I can talk to about this type and other ?
