    Hi,

Just joined the forum. We got our first allotment this year and enjoying it a great deal despite the hard work. I tried to plant a wide variety of vegetables and some fruit to see what does well and to learn as much as possible. Onions (from sets and from seed), potatoes (2nd earlies and main crop), french/dwarf beans, broad beans, leeks, carrots, cauliflowers, cabbages, radishes, lettuce, turnips, swedes, butternut squash and Sunflowers! We also inherited a few raspberries, rhubarb and we added a few strawberries.

Although I'm not entirely new to vegetable growing, I did have naively high expectations. I soon discovered that not everything came along quite as easily so I'm hoping to get a few hints off this forum!

    Rob
