    Hi I'm Kath, just turned 61 and finding as I decrease my working days I am finding more time to spend in the garden. Our back garden is the main point of interest, since we have tarmac-ed the front and have grasses and evergreen shrubs there which require little maintenance.

    Our back garden soil is loamy with a tendency to slightly more clay at the far end.

    I love the cottage garden effect, and strive to add the right flowers/shrubs in the right places! I have also just started vegetable growing this year with quite a steep learning curve, which is one of the reasons I am here !

    We have been in our home for over 20 years but latterly I have been able to spend more time and finally achieve what I am aiming for. I am looking forward to contributing and also gaining valuable information.
