    Hi All,

I live in St Albans, Herts, just north of London.
Am originally from South Africa (Cape Town), been in the UK for 12 years.

I have been growing plants/gardening for about 30 years.

My main interests are exotics. My garden is as exotic as I can have it in our climate. I have plenty Bamboos; Palms, Schefflera, Aroids, Impatiens, Kniphofia etc.

I also have a greenhouse with cacti, succulents and a few other interesting bits and pieces.

Looking forward to chatting here, and meeting new people.

    Thanks

I'm about 30 minutes away from you in a little village over near the M11.

Pity you didn't join one month earlier as I had my garden open for charity and about a dozen members came from around the country to meet each other. We raised £3,000 for a local charity :dbgrtmb:.

This is a link to a thread on here that shows a preview. It's four years old but gives an idea of the garden - although quite a bit has changed.

You must be near Rodings bamboo nursery. Ever been there?
And Beeches a bit further is also great.

I've never been there but I'm not too far from there (about 5-10 minutes) and you would pass my door on the way. If you're going that way anytime, then send me a PM (called Conversations on here) and if I'm around you can pop in for a cuppa and a chat. :dbgrtmb:

        Ok, thanks for the invite.
I am not likely to go there soon.
For one, I have about as many bamboo I can fit in my garden. (Weeeeell, I will squeeze in a Borinda papyrifera when I can track down a reasonably priced one.......)

But I felt that Rodings missed a trick.
They have a fantastic list of rare and hard to get species. But the place looks a bit of a mess when you get there. They should really try and do some sort of Japanese style garden and promote what they are selling. IMO anyway....
