    Good to be here...

Just a quick question. I have a roof terrace in Islington. The decking is rotten and the plants are mostly dead or dying (I promise I have cared for them as best I can!).
My Project for the year is to do this up to become the terrace of our dreams. I have looked for, but not found, a company to help me (they are either too expensive or out of town, one wanted £750 just to come and have a chat.) so I'm gonna do it on my own. Budget of £10K.

Trouble is - I know nothing of how to go about it.

I was planning to upload pics and ask some of your lovely people about similar experiences/advice/contacts.

Could someone tell me which is the best forum to post to?

Thanks for listening and happy gardening!!

good morning Roy and welcome to GC. I'm afraid I can't help much with this type of thing, I am having a small area of my garden decked out for a bbq area and I am so useless with wood that I am paying to have it done but it will not be as expensive as your project.

I would put some pictures on 'Garden Projects' in a new thread and maybe someone who has done something similar will be able to offer advice. GC has several professional gardeners as regulars and they will offer free advice to any other member. They are all very kind like that.

    Good luck anyway.
