Hiya, I need some advice regarding trees please.. my garden's small so I need to know what sort of trees I can plant which dont grow huge roots, and also if I keep a tree clipped will it's roots stay smaller?

Haven't found that, although with Sycamores and Field maples (Acer campestre, they are prone to the disease whose name I can't remember, but has big black splotches on the leaves!!) - the fancy ones don't see to get this - at least, not in my experience - maybe someone knows better??

If your looking for a small tree with no root problems, you probably need to think about growing your tree in a container.

Consider amelanciar, crab apple - the small purple leaved one, magnolia stellata, garyia - there are many.
