Hello everyone, I am new here and thought I’d say a quick hello and a run down of what I’m doing here! we have recently moved into a new house having lived in our previous place for 9 years and getting a bit of a gardening bug there, where I did a little bit of this and a little bit of that creating a great garden but definitely learning from our mistakes along the way Current house backs onto a river and I feel extremely lucky to live in such an amazing place eek! But back garden is basically a concrete patio full Sun south facing, front garden is completely in shade and we have a very unconventional side garden that isn’t actually attached to the house, I watch far too many garden programs and am constantly inspired by everything so need to reign myself in! i am hoping to use the forum to document our progress as well as tapping you all up for your incredible advice and experience!! thanks for listening
Welcome. I too am new to the forum but it seems a real pleasant and helpful place. I look forward to following your progress.
Welcome to Gardeners Corner Wannabe. It sounds like your new home has a nice aspect on the river. Would that be the Chelmer?
No, not exactly @Wannabe....600 miles north of there. I'm Essex born and reared but have gradually moved further north - now in Inverness-shire. My sister-in-law lived in both Maldon and Wivenhoe many years ago.
Garden as it is now we have fences it’s been a while since posting as we just couldn’t afford to fence it! But now work can start, I have drawn a plan and will attach it, if it makes sense
So the hard landscaping I have figured out, now it’s help from you lovely lot time i am dreaming of a circular large border in the middle of the garden, I would like a big shrub or small tree in the Center to create some shade as it gets VERY hot in the summer but I can not seem to find any ideas or border plans for a big round border? Can anyone point me in the direction of any help or show me yours *wink wink*
Hi Wannabe. It would be a good idea to start your own thread in the 'Projects' forum. This one should really be just an introductory thread.
