Just brought my hibiscus back to the office, its been in a pot out in the garden for a good part of this year & the foliage is very small and only at the ends of each stem. Does anyone have any advice on how to encourage further leaf growth down the stems, it didnt have any when I bought it. Its still flowering though!

    Thanks in advance,

If it's the hardy garden one like a 'bluebird' they are deciduous, they have small leaves and it goes dormant this time of year and are slow to come into leaf in the spring.

I have found that by pinching out the top helps get a more bushy shape and leaves down the stem (discovered when my cats knocked the top off!)

You can also then propagate a new Hibiscus from the pinched out section. [IMG]

one of the flowers has opened up this morning, what a lovely surprise coming into the dull office to find a beautiful salmon pink flower standing on my windowsill! :D On closer inspection I also notice it has at least 8 flower buds on it and has plenty of little green buds further down the stems, happy days!
