Can anyone imagine what it must be like being detained in a windowless steel shed without trial, with absolutely no hope for the future?

Can you comprehend being made to wear a bright orange clothing all the time?

Be frequently shouted at and forced to answer questions that you absolutely know nothing about?

    Well I do, I work at B&Q.

read on another forum and borrowed.

To be honest i have never heard anyone shout at them and being a builder i dont usually ask them for advice, but I can imagine they are asked the same questions quite regularly and they must be asked some quite stupid questions on a regular basis. They wear black at ours as well so why did i think orange, was that the old uniform?

In my local B&Q, the usual reply is, "sorry we dont stock that, we are the smallest one in the country you know, apart from the one in Hastings".

The other reply I got once while looking for a certain kind of paint was, "ITS OVER THERE,........NO LOOK THERE,....OH GOD, I'LL COME OVER AND PUT MY HAND ON IT".

The place it not one I frequent often.:D

Went into Focus once for some Armillatox. Askede the assistant wher it was, he said what`s that. I explained what it was and he said I`ve never heard if that. I said fair enough, can you tell me where the Jeyes Fluid is. He said, what`s that? I said it doesn`t matter, I`ll go and look for some pansies.:dbgrtmb:

I'm hoping for a job in B&Q's garden centres to augment my meagre stipend when I retire. I'm sure I'll fit right in!

B&Q, HomeBase etc employ retired persons, though you have to have full qualifications in whatever department you are employed in
Full time served Electrician,Plumber etc, Fully qulified gardener with Horticultural degree, you then are expected to give all your knowledge for free to THEIR profit making customers, for not a very good wage/return

That is good for the person who wants part time to supplement their pension and keep occupied, but not good for someone who has laboured all their life, as they would not be considered
