Highly scented shrub?

Hi, I keep getting a waft of scent every time I pass this shrub - still flowering in mid September. Any ideas please?



This has also come into bloom - picture in next post down - over the last couple of days - looks like an aster but the stems are too short?

1. Abelia x grandiflora ..possibly Abelia x grandiflora Francis Mason.

2. Yes...Aster.
They come as dwarf ones to very tall ones.
There are many many named cultivars.
I will not attempt to suggest which one it might be!
