Hi and a warm welcome to GC. [IMG]
I have a few clematis and they were almost striped to the shoots this winter, they are now coming on quite nicely. so I would say no you havent killed it.

Hi it will be fine, it'll just shoot of in different directions. I got one summer 2005 it's now covering 4 6ft fence panels, should cover more but i've acid to nuetral soil and they really like alkaline. The flowers smell lovely! and theres lots of them. ;)

I choose it because I'm a tropical gardener and it has nice big leaves and is evergreen, so fits in my jungle. [IMG]
