after watching another fab edition of love your garden with the king that is Alan titchmarsh ☺️ I was inspired with a climber and a tipee to create some "height" by my bench... So I planted a honeysuckle (not sure which one one but should be a yellowy-peachy colour flower.. ) with a wigwam thingy... But I think Alan failed to mention how it will be bald at the bottom and grow out the top?? What's a girl to do? Any advice please image.jpg

I'd just start training it down into the weave. It'll soon scramble around it.

        00000000000000000000000000015810Hi Clueless,

As you've come this far I agree with Joolz, however..........

What you should have done was started with a small plant and kept pinching it out for the first year or so to create lots of side - shoots to train around the bottom . Then, instead of letting it grow straight up you keep twisting it around on the horizontal and pinch the top out when it reaches the top.

I'm not really sure a Honeysuckle is the right plant for this sort of thing, it could be too vigorous, hence why it's already planning it's escape.

They do get quite big, what I did for my neighbour was made him an arch for it to grow round, its now made a nice feature, he can easily get all the way round it to keep it under control,

It looks like you could do the same in front of the bench put a clematis at the bottom of what you have now to full the bare part they look lovely in flower and the birds love them.
