'Tis holiday boking time for a cheapy get-away at Whitsun..... (and for the next joke!!!???)

Not wanting to take the little darlings out of school, we thought we'd have a week in the Algarve on a do-it-yourself holiday. Found a beautiful waterfron fishermans cottage off the beaten track for ââ??¬350 for the week, then the flights..... Ã?£1250 cheapest for the 4 of us!!!!!

So, we are binning the non-existent cheap foreign holiday and have gone back the the West country.
Can anyone reccomend a quiet off the beaten track place for 4 plus mutt? Either on a dog-friendly beach or we thought on Dartmoor? Lots of fresh air, walking, fishing and mud larking!! TV and civilisation not required!!!

    Does a place exisist? [IMG]

Sorry to hear that Honeybee but I am not surprised, I don't think there is such a thing as a cheap flight during school holidays.

I think it's very sad as I was looking forward to meeting all the Honey Bee family. :(

But, it appears that another member may be coming here in early April (won't mention names as it's not for me to say) and will be staying 20 minutes from me ... poor soul!

thanks IMP - I'll check it out!!!

LOL- the boys were really looking forward to meeting "The cat lady"!!!!! (and looking for lizards and gekos in your garden!!!! ), but at that sort of price, we would only get one trip this year, and were hoping for another later on.... we may take a gamble and try and get a last minute booking, but we will be also taking a chance of not getting anywhere!! Kids - its always their fault!!!!! [IMG]

I know of such a place in Hay-on-Wye but unfortunately its only for three. We can't go there anymore either. Price wise I always trawl the cottage brochures and then try and book direct with the owners. What about WACO's place up north, I can give you the details ?
