My Hollyhock is between 4 & 5 foot high with loads of buds but no flowers as yet. It just keeps getting taller and taller, it'll be as tall as me soon and i am 6 foot! which is tall for a woman!!!!

The buds look like there ready to pop at any time, every day when i am out there i keep saying to myself 'that'll flower soon' 3 weeks later and im still saying the same thing to myself! When oh when will it flower.
I've read that they can reach up to 8 foot high, is this right???

hi,these are in my front garden(the postage stamp)and i would say theyre about 4ft.i pulled 2 out earlier this year, partly because of rust and partly because last yr they grew so tall i couldnt see out the front window!. [IMG] are yours plagued with rust?i cant see them, just a box with a cross in the middle, and the gremlins.double scarlet.are those the special variety?i looked at some in wilkos, but never bought them.i wish i had now.

    Hi elaine,
This is mine, i did plant two but the other one got eaten by something and didn't grow. Looks like the other one is making up for it!

It did have one leaf that was full of rust, my mum advised me to wip it off asap and to burn or bin it. Apparently there quite prone to it. Since then i've bought some spray for rust etc and it seems to be ok now. Apart from something munching on the leaves, leaving big holes.

Im not sure if there a special type as i've not grown them before. Just wish it would flower, im dying to see what it looks like.

One word springs to mind...patience! :D
