Well I am thinking of having a go at brewing some beer and to add to the fun I also want to print some labels to stick on it!!:) I have never done any printing of this sort so could someone point me in the direction of what I would need? I would like to make the design on computer and then print it out if poss? I am using an iMac. Any suggestions of the best home brew kits would also be very much appreciated!!

Make your design on the computer, then print onto self adhesive vinyl sheets or similar, cut them out and stick them onto your bottles.

You would probably get four or more labels per sheet of A4, depending of course on the size of the labels you want.

Any inkjet printer that is Mac compatible (which is nearly all of them nowadays) would do fine - needn't be expensive either. The Kodak machines are about the cheapest to refill, but how cheap the machines are or how readily available the ink is I don't know. Avoid Epson like the plague (fantastic printers for the first set of cartridges, and then little more than a nightmare thereafter, and the cartridges are very expensive). I generally prefer HP or Canon printers.

EDIT - something like this Canon should be ideal; just bear in mind that a USB cable is not included in the box, but should only be another couple of quid from Amazon.

      I got an Advent A10 for £20.

It's great. Far better than the Kodak which is now in landfill.

Any compatible printer, then either use ordinary paper and prit stik or spend money on sticky backed paper
You know what is in the bottles anyway, and mine would not last long enough to be worth the labelling :-)

When I used to do labels for my fishing bait, I used the template on Microsoft to design them and printed onto self adhesive labels. You have a selection of sizes and makes to choose from. If you of use self adhesive labels make sure that they are decent quality, as I found cheaper ones come unstuck when in the cold.
