This will be my 2nd year of planting potatoes in tubs. Only got a few last year but they where home grown, and somehow tasted much better. Have planted up three larger tubs with help from grandsons. Also planted broad beans ,peas, carrots. All from seeds that grandsons gave me for my birthday.
    Cheers Barb,
    ps all in tubs.

Home Guard is a good old variety - we used to grow it commercially on my Fathers Farm in the 60s and 70s. Its a First Early so thats a very good choice for grow your own. I think these older varieities have much better taste. :gnthb:

Planted up caulies in propagator 5 days ago, they are showing already, this is my first attempt at these. Also first time with peas, broad beans , carrots, and spring onions. I am really enjoying myself and can hardly wait to see them all come up. After reading this site and picking up so much advice and encouragement it makes me want to do more. If only I had the space. Thank you. Cheers Barb.
