I made a cold frame today out of planks of wood and used an old double glazed window for the top. I went out to check the frame tonight to find it was misted up!! It seems to me that the seal to keep the wind out in a normal house has sealed the frame really well. However, is this going to be a problem?

With the increased humidity, there is a greater chance of a fungal disease taking hold. Just remember to open the lights as often as possible. :dancy: Cheers, Tony.

Depends what you are growing. I've got a home made cold frame currently used to bring on my early spuds plus hardening off runner beans and leek seedlings. It's got condensation on the inside which is not a problem for these plants, I open up the vent on sunny days (not many of those recently) mainly to stop it getting too hot, the condensation disappears then.

Thanks both, I am using the frame for hardening off Beans and some flowers prior to planting out. I took the vents off and they are blocked now. I will build on some ventilation to head off the possibility of fungal inections. My athletes foot hasn't cleared up since the last one . :lunapic 130165696578242 5: :ThankYou:
